One year after marriage, Jiang Yunshu found out that she was pregnant. Fu Chengze’s reaction made her feel that, regarding the arrival of the child, he seemed to have no joy or anticipation at all. Until one day, in a video call that had been forgotten and still running, Fu Chengze’s exceptionally gentle voice came through:
“Baby, don’t cry, Daddy will hold you.”
“Chuchu is the cutest little child in the world, just as beautiful as Mommy.”
“Daddy also wants to kiss Mommy, but Mommy doesn’t allow it.”
“Baby, when do you think Mommy will forgive Daddy?”

That night, as they started anew, the two of them conveyed their longing for each other in the most intimate way. Liquid fell onto her face. Jiang Yunshu opened her eyes and realized it wasn’t sweat, but tears.
She looked into his eyes, incredulously asking, “Did… did you cry?”
Fu Chengze buried his face in her neck, his voice choked and hoarse, “Yunshu, I’ve missed you so much.”
Later, Jiang Yunshu would learn that his coming to Yunjiang that year was no coincidence. Fu Chengze had loved her for many, many years.
